Why an Atheist Thinks the Shroud of Turin is the Real Deal

Nathan Wilson, an English teacher at a small, mid-western, Fundamentalist Christian college, was very much convinced that the Shroud was fake because it contradicted his literal reading of the Gospel of John. He set out to find a better way to create a shroud-like image. His approach was ingenious. By sun-bleaching unbleached linen with a mask painted on a paneof glass, he was able to create a facial image that looked something like the face on the Shroud.  He was featured on the ABC evening news show. However, it, too, failed to reproduce many of the Shroud’s features, in fact, most of them.
