Pareidolia

Perceived images of a person, animal or any object or shape seen on toast, wood, windowpanes, stones, leaves, clouds, and for that matter on the shroud, are called pareidolia. Pareidolia is a form of apophenia, which the Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines as, “the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data.”
